ORCHARD COTTAGE
AT THE LYGON ARMS

Nestling in a corner and overlooking lawns and flower-beds, Orchard Cottage fulfils everyone's dream of a romantic English cottage. The Norfolk reed thatch encompasses white painted walls, dark wooden beams and terracotta brickwork, and the landscaped private car park and garden allows for peace and security whilst still enjoying all the services and comforts of the main hotel, including The Lygon Arms Spa.

For summer visitors garden furniture and private barbecues will be provided to enable guests to take full advantage of both the weather and the garden outlook, with home comforts such as wellington boots and warm fires for chill autumn or winter days.

Inside the four new rooms have been designed to blend exactly into the period feel of the cottage. Three rooms have four-poster beds, all have fireplaces, exposed beams, dark oak furniture and timber tongue and groove panelling. Colours vary from the rich English damsons and golds redolent of the Tudor period, to country fabrics in creams, mustard and green with finishing touches such as bookcases, lamps in porcelain and brass and needlework cushions to add a warm residential feeling.

Although no detail has been spared to ensure that everything is in keeping with the style of Orchard Cottage - even the light fittings and door catches have been given an antique finish - each room still contains the modern technology necessary for today's business traveller with fax, UK/US modem points and DDI telephones. For leisure travellers DVD players will also be provided.

Bathrooms have limestone floors and ceramic handmade tiles decorated with fish, coral and shell motifs, some with marble vanity units; all bathrooms have separate shower cubicles and dressing areas.

Orchard cottage is the ideal venue for weekend breaks, honeymooners or house parties.
